Rules for participation on Young Christian Writers:
1. You must be a follower of Jesus.
2. You will speak to your fellow writers with respect. If you cannot address others respectfully, then do not comment. Keep in mind that you are to consider them as more important than yourself. (Romans 12:10 "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor." Phil. 2:3 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;") This includes our elders and our country's leaders. (1 Peter 2:17 "Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.")
3. If you disagree, know that you might not agree by the end of the discussion, and that is okay. Do not allow your discussion to become an argument that drags on forever. If you sense it is heading in that direction, politely close the conversation.
4. Keep your language clean. No cursing, blasphemy, or derogatory comments.
5. Do not come here to discourage others in their pursuits of writing for God. If you are giving a critique, do it in a loving manner, not in a way that will tear down the other person. Be encouraging, not discouraging. (1 Thess. 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.")
6. Do not comment frequently with idle words. Consider your point and purpose before you comment, and only comment if you will be edifying. (Prov. 10:19 "When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.")
7. Do not neglect to comment if you know your comment would be edifying. We want to encourage each other. (Prov. 25:11 "Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances.") This one might be harder to follow, as how do you always know for sure if your comment will be edifying? Just use your best judgement. If you would like to just read this blog, and not comment, then that is fine, but if you *know* that your comment would be beneficial, then please speak up. :) I'm not going to require everyone to comment all the time. :)
Keep this in mind:
Psalm 19:14 "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
It is Jesus who sees us, all we do and all we write.
*If anyone fails to keep in line with these rules, then they will be issued a warning. If they still do not change their conduct, then they will be removed from participation - any future comments they make will be deleted.*
